They are appointed on a long-term basis to bridge gaps between disciplines and keep abreast of the latest research developments to ensure that RIKEN positions itself as a pioneer in new emerging fields. They help to plan the organization’s future research strategy and ensure that the overall strength of the institute can be mobilized to respond to changing social needs. 理研が時代の要請に基づく研究に研究分野や所属する組織を超えて分野横断的に取り組むためには、理研全体として分野の多様性を維持し、その担い手となる中核的研究者を長期的に確保することが必要となります。このため、特に優れた研究業績、高い研究指導力及び科学者としての見識を有し、今後とも卓越した成果を出すことが期待される者を主任研究員として任命する制度を新たに創設しました。主任研究員は自らの研究を通じ、理研として取り組むべき基礎的な研究課題の実施や新たな研究分野の開拓を理研の総合力を発揮することにより挑みます。 主任研究員研究室 Chief Scientist Laboratories
